Provision #7 of the Code of Ethics states that nurses, in all roles and settings, will advance the profession of nursing and health policy. This highly interactive session will begin with a focus on the evidence-based lack of nurse’s voice in the media, boardroom, and politically. Participants will be educated on how to increase their presence and perspective in the media, orientation to the duties related to board service, and methods and resources related to advocacy and impact. Participants will leave the session excited and eager to apply their new understanding of the importance and duty to advance the profession through leadership, policy and professionalism. Each attendee will commit to actionable steps related to Provision #7 and will have accountability related to their implementation.

- Assess their personal performance related to best practice media, boardroom, and advocacy participation.
- Create a clear, measurable, action steps to advance the nursing profession and increase nursing impact in media, board service and/or advocacy.
